Max paper size: A3 (297 x 420 mm)
Max printable area: 287 x 410 mm

This means your page will not print to the edges. There should be a minimum 5mm border around all edges... more if there is a lot of ink coverage.

With riso colours are layered to make new colours... and we usually print two colours at a time.

More than 2 colours means the paper has to go through the printer again. For double sided printing we also need to go through the printer again.

We are volunteer run. Please leave enough time to get printing done and give us space to work - we aren’t a commerical company so might not work so fast. This can be two weeks, more for zines.

We use riso printing - this is different to digital printing and so colours, runs and finishes are very different... if unsure, please research a bit on riso printing :::))) 🌞

Do-it-yourself principle for making zines... equipment:

For smaller than A3 - we will still print on A3! But then trim down the prints...

if you are making a zine, we can print the publication and will then set up the space for your group to come and gather, fold and bind your zine... we need to book this in advance to find a good moment.

Riso is a print process which prints one colour at a time, through a stencil. It is a very efficient process to cheaply print large quantities. Puposefully combining colours makes new colour possibilities.

OK WITH RISO:
- limited colours (duotones)
- large quantities (50+ copies)
- formats up to A3
- zines 50-150 copies. more if you have a big crew to help collate, fold and bind

NOT OK WITH RISO:
- full colour printing
- large areas of ink
- small quantities (less than 25-50)
- formats larger than A3
- zines with more than 500 copies
